That is tasty. I've been waiting for a tablet PC without the size/weight overhead of a lame keyboard. Now if only it had Linux support... *sigh*

Well, it's a PC, won't it run Linux? Or do you just mean Linux doesn't have handwriting recognition apps and such?

If you look at Linux on Laptops, you'll see that many people never get all the details of managing their hardware sorted out -- things like power management, or sometimes more crucial things like the built-in ponting device or wireless networking.

Without manufacturer support, I wouldn't assume you could get the pen working or the fingerprint sensor, for two, until I heard reports from the field.

Which is a pity, 'cause with such a lightweight machine, I bet running a lightweight window manager would make a noticeable difference.

Got one on order now... it'll be late September before the ViewAnywhere screen is available, so I've got a bit of a wait...

Hi, Jerry,

after all the time: did you get linux to work on the Motion LS800?

Kind regards

Stephan

I ended up with a Fujitsu P1510D instead. The keyboard and the touch screen were what convinced me in the end.

I'm not running Linux on that either, though.
