[mefi-projects] #062 08-Jun-2003

Whoops. The original mailing accidentally omitted Derek Powazek's Fray
announcements. Notice how I have phrased that sentence to give the
impression that the mailing itself that made this mistake, rather than the
doofus who puts it together.

Mad Ape Den <http://www.madapeden.com>
A blog with movie reviews, political debates, and science stories -- all
in words of three letters or less, the "Mad Ape Den" style. A Mad Ape Den
ode was on Me Fi ere now, but now the gig has its own URL.

75 Degrees South <http://simonc.f2o.org/south/>
A weblog about my forthcoming move to work in Antarctica. At the moment
there's information about my trip, some photos and a glossary of Antarctic
language, but come November I'll be posting entries about life at an
Antarctic research station.

Gapers' Block <http://www.gapersblock.com/>
A Chicago-centric news and events site. Kind of like Gawker or
TheMorningNews, but with a Chicago bias instead of a New York one.

Fray Cafe Sedona <http://fray.com/events/sedona/>
Come to Fray's first storytelling event in Sedona on Friday, June 13,
to see frayers Derek Powazek and Heather Champ and other special guests tell
stories. Bring a story to tell in the open mic!

Fray Day 7 <http://fray.com/events/7/>
Fray's annual storytelling festival has been scheduled for October 4/5,
with events planned for San Francisco, Copenhagen, and more! Want to
organize an event of your own, or get involved with an ongoing one? Now's
the time!

Got a new site or a major change to announce? E-mail the site's name, URL,
your MetaFilter user name, and a brief (fifty words or thereabouts) blurb to
mefi-projects AT jerrykindall.com. If you want to make the moderator a happy
camper, do it in the same format as the ones you see above.
