[mefi-projects] #092 21-Nov-2004

This is, in all likelihood, the last mefi-projects mailing, as The Haughey
is adding a new section to MetaFilter specifically for members for
self-linking. For this reason, I'll be shutting down the signup page
shortly. I'll keep the mailing list around a bit longer just in case I need
to send y'all some announcement or other, but even that should be gone by
the end of the year. To prevent your e-mail addresses from falling into the
wrong hands, the list will be encrypted using 256-bit AES, then subjected to
a military-grade "shredding" protocol that will overwrite the file with
random data hundreds of times. Archives will continue to be available at
<http://www.jerrykindall.com/mefi-projects/>. It's been a pleasure, folks.

Axes & Alleys <http://www.axesandalleys.com/Index/Issue1.html>
Axes & Alleys is a 'zine that's been available for over a year in print,
for several months as a downloadable PDF, and is now being converted to HTML
one issue at a time. The content is just whatever comes from the mind of
its creators, Scott Birdseye and Jeremy Rosen. Regular features include
Montezuma II's advice column, Ask Montezuma, H.G. Peterson's poems,
classifieds, and more. The eighth issue will come out in PDF tomorrow and
the entire site will be updated to HTML by the end of the year.

NerdFilter <http://www.nerdfilter.com/>
NerdFilter is a community blog for "nerd culture." We're aiming for
more of an arts, music, techie, light-hearted feel, rather than heavy
politics or social-outrage-of-the-day stuff. Not as technical as Slashdot
or K5 but still with plenty to interest nerds.

Got a new site or a major change to announce? E-mail the site's name, URL,
your MetaFilter user name, and a brief (fifty words or thereabouts) blurb to
mefi-projects AT jerrykindall.com. If you want to make the moderator a happy
camper, do it in the same format as the ones you see above.
